Crop, straighten and rotate

Set the aspect ratio, move the photo and apply your crop before exporting.

  1. Open a photo and choose Crop beside the photo preview. The Crop & rotate view opens.
  2. Choose an Aspect ratio. Use Free to resize without a fixed ratio, or Original to match the photo’s proportions.
  3. Drag an edge or corner to resize the crop. Drag inside or outside the frame to move the photo. Scroll or pinch to zoom.
  4. Use Rotate left or Rotate right for quarter turns, Flip horizontally or Flip vertically to mirror, and Straighten for a small angle adjustment.
  5. Choose Apply to keep the changes, or Cancel to return to the previous crop.

Reset or adjust the crop again

Reopen Crop to change the selection while the photo is open. Reset crop restores the full crop area; Reset rotation resets quarter turns and straightening. These are separate controls.

For keyboard control, focus the photo or a crop handle. Arrow keys move it; hold Shift for larger steps. The + and − keys zoom, and 0 zooms out.

Check the saved dimensions

A tighter crop keeps fewer source pixels. Straightening also trims the image to avoid empty corners. Pro uses the original source resolution but cannot recover detail outside your crop.

The crop view shows dimensions for the working image. After applying the crop, open Export to see the final Standard and Original resolution dimensions with any frame included.

If you are using a frame

In Frames, Photo placement → Keep entire photo preserves the whole cropped image inside the opening. Fill frame fills the opening and may hide more of the edges. Use Horizontal and Vertical to adjust its position.

The source file on your device is unchanged. Export a JPEG before leaving the session. Crop, rotation and frame settings belong to this photograph and are not saved in a personal preset.
